Football has made the career of many rising star players. By providing them with a platform for their talent on the bigger stage. European clubs like Benfica, Ajax, Dortmund, and many more build a team with a mix of high-class talent and experienced players. Then comes a wave of the transfer window, which gives these talented players and clubs the to join hands. It is a dream of many players to join bigger clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and many more. These clubs have lots of money to spend on players. Chelsea is known for spending lots of money on transfer windows to buy any player of their liking.

After the exit of Ex-owner Roman Abramovich, Todd Boehly took over Chelsea. Everyone was hoping that the new ownership would change the club’s investing pattern. But nothing sort of changes. Todd Boehly with manager Thomas Tuchel brought new players at very high prices.

Chelsea did nine signings before the end of summer transfer windows, and few of the players on the list were at the end of their careers.

Only 100 days into the ruthless ownership and bulk investment in players, Todd Boehly sacked Thomas Tuchel in the name of “taking the club forward after a 1-0 away defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Tuchel left Chelsea in 6th position in the premier league table.

Graham Potter was signed as the new manager of Chelsea with the long-term plan of building a young team around him. He hadn’t got enough time to showcase team performance because of FIFA World Cup 2022 and the winter transfer window taking place.

Chelsea was looking for the right balance for the team and wanted to buy forward-attacking players with a mix of some defenders.

After spending so much money Chelsea is right now in 10th position. In the last match, they played against the last-ranked team Southhampton and lost 1-0.

They are lagging 1-0 in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League against Dortmund.

It raises many questions about their art of investment and how they use those players in matches.

Final Words

After disturbing the transfer window market with large biddings for players, Chelsea is still struggling in keeping up with the Premier League and Champions League. Hoping Graham Potter should not be sacked like other ex-Chelsea managers in the past. Some systems need to be sorted out.
